Course #208-VAV Troubleshooting

Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems are the most common HVAC Systems installed in commercial buildings today. To be effective on the job, a technician MUST be able to effectively work on these systems. This course will cover a wide array VAV systems and Controls. Both typical DDC and Pneumatic Controls for VAV systems will be covered in this class. Your instructor will be Ron Auvil, who has been working on these systems since they were first introduced in the late 1970’s. He has taught VAV systems for Carrier, Johnson Controls, Novar Controls, and Honeywell. This course will be chock full of practical field tips for technicians insights that technicians need to know to work on VAV systems. It will cover multiple manufacturers and generations of controls.

About The Instructor:


Ron Auvil has 40 years of HVAC and Controls Experience. He has worked as a senior controls technician for Johnson Controls. He has also taught HVAC and Controls classes across the United States for Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Carrier, Novar Controls, and others. He has written several textbooks; ‘HVAC and Refrigeration Systems’ and ‘HVAC Control Systems’ both from American Technical Publishers.
